The Seven Warlords are pirates who are supposed to work with the World Government of One Piece, but not all of them are very loyal or useful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/header>\n

The Seven Warlords were pirates given special protection by the World Government in exchange for their services. They were among the\u00a0One Piece<\/em>\u00a0series’ main antagonists before the time skip and posed a secondary threat ever since.<\/p>\n

Although all Warlords made the same\u00a0promise to the Marines,\u00a0their willingness and ability to keep it varies significantly among them. By ranking the original seven based on their usefulness, we can better ascertain which of them were actually invaluable to their benefactors and how well they supported the Navy throughout their tenure as hired mercenaries.<\/p>\n

C<\/span>rocodile Made The World Government Look Foolish & Saved Luffy At Marineford<\/h2>\n

Crocodile’s attempt to destabilize and overthrow Alabasta was a disgrace to the Warlords. Considering that the desert nation was aligned with the World Government, it challenged the program’s credibility.\u00a0It also really didn’t help that\u00a0he was taken down by a pirate worth under a hundred million berries.<\/p>\n

To make matters worse, Crocodile was responsible for saving Luffy from Akainu during the escape from Marineford. Ultimately, he contributed almost nothing to the Marines and defied them at every turn.<\/p>\n

Jinbe Was Mostly Useless To The Marines & Later Joined The Straw Hats<\/h2>\n

Jinbe was made a Warlord in order to attempt to bridge the failing relationship between Fish-Men and the surface world. Superficially, he was a good candidate because the denizens of Fish-Man Island respected him immensely, and his honorable disposition\u00a0suggested that he wouldn’t go rogue when it suited him.<\/p>\n

However, it also made him refuse to\u00a0put up with the World Government’s atrocities. His obstinance eventually got him imprisoned in Impel Down, where he formally met Ace in person. A long while later,\u00a0Jinbe became an official member of the Straw Hat crew. He was definitely a lot more useful to Luffy and the Straw Hats than he ever\u00a0was to the World Government.<\/p>\n

Boa Hancock Was More Trouble Than She Was Worth But Still Helped The World Government<\/h2>\n

Boa Hancock was the leader of Amazon Lily and a reluctant ally to the World Government.\u00a0Seeing how she helped to destroy the Pacifistas and actively harbored Luffy from the Marines, it’s difficult to consider her a reliable Warlord. After all, the prisoners of Impel Down could’ve never escaped without her.<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0she also cut down Whitebeard’s people\u00a0at the battle for Marineford in order to reaffirm her loyalty to the Navy. Subsequently, she was less destructive than Crocodile and more useful than Jinbe when\u00a0considering the World Government’s agenda.<\/p>\n

Doflamingo Was Useful To The World Government, But His Ulterior Motives Led To Disgrace<\/h2>\n

Doflamingo was an active participant in the Marineford war. He stood against Crocodile, helped to cut down Oars Jr, and defeated dozens of Whitebeard’s men by himself. Additionally, he was the only Warlord aside from Kuma to heed the Marines’ summons after the Skypiea arc.<\/p>\n

Although this might suggest he was a reliable ally,\u00a0Doflamingo’s other operations\u00a0(such as his agreement with Kaido) completely discredited the value of his contributions.<\/p>\n

Kuma’s Loss Of Humanity Made Him More Useful To The Marines<\/h2>\n

Although Kuma was initially a member of the Revolutionary Army, the World Government slowly stripped him of his humanity. He was a massive asset at Marineford, especially with how he prevented Oars from breaching the walls and provided the template for the Pacifistas.<\/p>\n

However, Kuma’s final act of defiance would be of grave consequence later. By scattering the Straw Hats across the world,\u00a0he prevented Kizaru\u00a0from capturing them and delivering “justice” for the assault of Saint Charloss.<\/p>\n

Gecko Moria Did Not Betray The World Government In Any Noticeable Way<\/h2>\n

Through his tenure under the World Government, Gecko Moria has been consistently reliable. By abducting pirates in the Florian Triangle, he thinned their numbers and did exactly what his masters commissioned him for. Moria even lent his undead armies in the battle of Marineford, illustrating his commitment to the cause.<\/p>\n

However, Doflamingo noted that he was weak and tried to kill him at the battle’s conclusion. Shocked and betrayed, Moria vanished before his attacker could finish the job. Still, he’s quite loyal and hasn’t shown any signs of severing his connection with the World Government.<\/p>\n

Mihawk Is The Warlords’ Most Responsible Member<\/h2>\n

Mihawk is handily the most responsible member of the Warlords. He proved his commitment to duty by obliterating Don Krieg’s armada and chasing him into the East Blue. Additionally, he realized the threat Luffy posed and almost killed him at Marineford with powerful shockwaves.<\/p>\n

However, even Mihawk’s record isn’t completely spotless when it comes to loyalty. He willingly harbored and trained Roronoa Zoro despite his status as a Straw Hat pirate. This suggests that swordsman isn’t as loyal to his benefactors as he would like them to believe, even if he is still objectively less detrimental than others.<\/p>\n
